7.3.1 An Active Participant in Your Industry

In this theme we learned that an entrepreneur is not adequately prepared until they understand the industry or industries they plan to enter and in which they intend to compete.  

The three Ts that are important for becoming active in an industry: Trade Associations, Trade Shows, and Trade Journals 

Task: Pick an industry in which you have an interest. It will be best to choose the Industry that is related to work you have already completed.  

Make a list of the premier trade associations, trade shows, and trade journals associated with the industry. 

The results of your research will be useful when completing task 7.3.2. 

Read the contents of the publications to help you understand the industry in question and help you recognise competitors in that industry for future worksheets.
