In this theme, you have learned that a differentiation strategy calls for the development of a product or service that offers attributes that are both unique and are valued by customers.

Questions:

  1. Can you think of any industries in which a differentiation strategy would be difficult to implement?
  2. Can you provide an example of a differentiated business near your college or university?
  3. Name three ways businesses that provide entertainment that might better differentiate their services. How might they do this?

 

To answer these questions, look back at what you learned about the sources of differentiation. Also recall what businesses that succeed in a differentiation strategy must have.
