For this activity:

You will need to write down your answers in your Mahara e-portfolio.

In this theme you have learnt that an elevator pitch is a short, simple description of a business idea that anyone could understand by the time they ride up (or down) in an elevator.

Task: Prepare your Elevator Pitch.

Create an elevator pitch for your business idea. At this stage you will have generated the idea and discussed feasibility. This is enough for an elevator pitch.

In the previous worksheet, you prepared an elevator pitch for a well-known business. Use the hints below and prepare a pitch for your business idea.

Hint - In a previous activity you learnt what elements are included in an elevator pitch as follows:

In 30 seconds, all an entrepreneur needs for an elevator pitch is:

1. Who are you?

·       Your name.

·       Your title.

·       Your company’s name.

·       Where you are located?

2. What do you do?

·       In two or three sentences, the entrepreneur must be able to explain what the company does?

·       Words must be clear and not need further explanation.

3. Why should an investor talk to you?

·       This is the vital part of the pitch.

·       Unique Selling Point of the business or service.

·       The benefits of the product or service not necessarily a feature.

·       Establish a link between what clients feel about the product and what benefits they get from using your products.
